From rock, jazz or classical. We will teach you!
At The Guitar School we use our teaching experience to craft a teaching approach, pace and syllabus uniquely suited to your requirements. We do this by discussing your unique reason for wanting to play and progress on the guitar, finding out what your goals, inspirations, likes and dislikes are. From there we craft a course just for you. Whether you just want to play the guitar for pleasure or are looking for a bespoke course focusing on non-idiomatic improvisation or music technology, we've got you covered. The genres we teach include rock, jazz, classical, metal, pop and finger-style.
The Guitar School can also prepare you for internationally accredited certifications and subject music instruction for school students. We have extensive experience in preparing students for exams and encourage as many students to enter as possible. The Guitar School also offers classical, contemporary, and jazz music theory lessons. But if you'd like to learn something that you don't find on our website, please make contact and we'd be happy to help.

Or what about Barrios and Villa-Lobos, what can the Clave teach us about the inner workings of their compositions and how to interpret these. This is for the love of music, through the guitar.

How we learn guitar can leave us stuck, stuck using second hand information - the tired old CAGE chords, boring pentatonics for blues or jazz, or just no idea how to approach phrasing or rubato for classical. Whether using TAB or notation all these problems have one common truth – theoretical understanding is better than just finger memory. This bespoke course works with you, from your level, to arm you with the skills of analysis and reflection on the guitar, transcending limitations with deeper knowledge.
